Max Irey, an 11th-grader at Catalina Foothills High in Arizona, won the Division 1 boys junior race at the 42nd ASICS Mt. Carmel Cross Country Invitational at Balboa Park's Morley Field. Irey covered the 3-mile layout 16:06.5 for Catalina Foothills, which took third overall with 124 points.
